I started off with great intentions of keeping up with blogging but I'm not so sure it's working out so well, especially since every time I log onto the computer I some how end up on pinterest... (I might be slightly obsessed lol). I have been able to squeeze in a little time to scrap though...

This LO was created using Sketchy Thursdays sketch from last week...

My hubby got me a bunch of cute girly paper for Christmas so I was super excited to cut into it and start scrapping some photos of my baby girl...

My hubby also got me a new camera, a Canon T3i... I'm so super excited to finally have an SLR camera!! Needless to say, I LOVE IT!! :) I just hope I can eventually figure it all out lol. Here are some of my favorite photos that I've taken with it so far...

i know, it's almost been a year...

A year ago, I found out that I was pregnant with our second child and the pregnancy seriously kicked my butt, especially on top of taking care of a toddler. Needless to say, I didn't feel like doing much of anything especially scrapping and blogging. Then, on July 8th, my beautiful baby girl, Brynn Elizabeth, was born and of course I had to scrap a photo of her...

Since then, I've been wanting to scrap more but being a stay at home mommy of two little ones kind of takes up all my time!! But, I really need to make the effort to set aside time for myself, I think it'll help me stay a little sane lol. So, today my hubby took the kids and I sat down with paper that I bought this time last year and had never touched and an old Christmas photo from 2009...

I'm super excited to get back into scrapping and blogging!! I have TONS of photos waiting for me!! And I think it might be time to check out what new papers are out lol ... Anyone have any favorites right now? I probably have all the Christmas lines from last year, so no Christmas paper for me lol. I can't wait to check out everyone's blogs and see what everyone's been up to!! I'm off to go find me some inspiration and then maybe start another layout!! :)

Scrapdango December kit reveal...

I think it's literally been forever since I've posted on my blog. Life has been super crazy lately... and I have a really good reason for slacking!! I think you will all let me off the hook when I tell you. So, I didn't want to say anything too soon but I have some really super duper exciting news... we are expecting our second child!! :) I'm so excited to have another baby... I can't believe Shane is almost going to be two years old in a few months!! Where does the time go?? The down side is that this pregnancy is totally kicking my butt... I don't remember feeling this sick and being this tired when I was pregnant with Shane. Anyway, now you know why I've sorta been MIA lately. I'm nine and a half weeks along so I'm getting close to the 12th week and I should hopefully, fingers crossed, start feeling better once I get into the second trimester.

I also have some scrappy stuff to share too!! I received the new Scrapdango December Sugar Kit to work with this month and let me tell you, it is GORGEOUS!!

Well, that's it for now... I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season... I can't believe it's only 10 days until Christmas!! :)

My favorite color is pink, I'm totally a girly-girl!!
I'm a stay at home mom but before having my son, I worked in a salon as a hair stylist!!

I'm the oldest of three girls, my sister's are twins but since we're so close in age (11 months & 11 days apart) we were often mistaken for triplets!!

My example layout...

I incorporated my fun facts with a book page because I love reading and by making my layout super pink and girly. You need to incorporate 2 of my fun facts in whatever creative way you can come up with!!

busy busy busy...

I've been so super busy lately... which means I haven't had a whole lot of time for blogging but I'm here now!! :) We decided to take a spontaneous overnight trip to the beach... it was desperately needed!! It was so nice to get away and relax!! Shane had a blast... digging is his ultimate past time... seriously, my kid doesn't leave the house without a shovel!! :)

Shane also had sooo much fun on Halloween!! He was too little to go trick-or-treating last year so this was his first time!! He kept digging in his bucket and eating the candy while we were still out... he thought it was the coolest thing ever!! We picked his favorite animal to be his costume this year... he was a doggie...
I've been busy scrapping too but most of the stuff I can't share yet!! I can share this layout though. This is for the November color challenge at Scrapdango... you can check it out HERE. I used this weeks sketch at Sketchy Thursdays...

I'm soooo super excited.. the new Scrapdango design team was announced today... and guess who made the DT!! Yup!! ME!! :) I was beyond excited... literally jumping up and down!! Shane thought I had gone completely bananas lol If you haven't check out Scrapdango yet... be sure to head over there... the kits are AWESOME and everyone is so sweet and welcoming!! :)

I also wanted to share a quick layout that I made today...

This is my neighbor and friend, she's so sweet, she loves to come over and scrapbook with me!! When she gave me her school pic, I knew I had to scrap it!! I hope she likes it!! :)

I really love this time of year... it's so nice that the weather is cooling off, the fair is here, and Halloween is just around the corner!! :) I was super excited to play with Bella Blvd - One Fall Day... so that I could get some of my recent fall photos scrapped!!
We had a really fun time at the pumpkin patch this year and I have tons of cute photos to scrap... this was one of my many favorites...
I'm sooo lovin this paper... and I was even able to get a card out of the scraps!! yay!! :)

pumpkin patch...

We took Shane to the pumpkin patch this week... it was so much fun!! I have a ton of pictures to scrap from our visit... which is a good thing since I bought WAY too much Halloween paper... so many of the companies came out with cute Halloween lines that I went a little crazy!! :) I love Halloween though so I'm sure I'll make use out of all the cute paper... I'm definitely thinking I need a Halloween mini... it's on the to-do list!! :) So... onto the layout... here's one of my favorite pics from of visit to the pumpkin patch using Echo Park...

I've been sticking by my word and making a point to try and take more pictures with the three of us as a family (I even got one of all of us at the pumpkin patch, too!! yay, me!!) This pic was taken at the park last week... we've been having so much fun going to the park lately...

I also have tons of park pics that are on my scrappy to-do list... I just bought the new line City Park by American Crafts this morning at my LSS and I'm super excited to scrap some of my favorite park pics with it!! Well that's it for now... I hope everyone is having a great week!! :)

So, here are some more Mix & Mend layouts... I know I already said it, but I gotta say it again... love it!! Our trip to Story land a few weeks ago was really fun... it's a little park where you can go to visit places out of story books... there's the three little pigs, Captain Hook's Ship, King Arthur's castle, and a ton more. Shane's not quite old enough to understand that we were visiting the stories but he had a blast running around and climbing on stuff!! I'm starting to realize that I'm horrible at making sure that we get pics taken together as a family, there's a bunch with Shane and Dad, and some of Shane and me, and TONS of just Shane, but only a handful of the three of us. So, I need to make sure I make a point of scrapping the ones we have and putting out effort to take more in the future. This one is the three of us from last Easter...This next layout was really fun, I hand cut the little flower designs from some Fancy Pants pp, glued them onto my background paper and did some funky crazy machine stitching around all of them!! I love this pic of Shane with his doggies... I think it totally captures how much he loves them!! :)
And I have a mini to share too!! My hubby got me a cinch for my birthday so of course I couldn't wait to use it!! I took a ton of cute pics of Shane playing in a big mud hole in the backyard and I couldn't narrow it down to a few for a LO so they got their own mini book!! :)

I used some of the cool techniques that we learned in Sarah's class... and I had a lot of fun putting it together!! I'm super excited to start creating some more!! :) That's it for now!! :)

Birthday week layouts...

I had the best birthday week ever!! The best part of my week was that my hubby took the week off from work and he helped out a ton with Shane so I got a lot of scrappy time!! Here are a couple of layouts that I got done...

This first one is a scraplift from a layout that I fell in love with in this months Scrapbook Trends Magazine... I've been wanting to scrap these pics forever and this was the perfect design for them...

As you can probably tell, I'm sooo loving Echo Park!! :) I really loved these papers for scrapping last years Easter photos that I still had yet to scrap...
I finally got my hands on the new Sassafras Mix & Mend... LOVE IT!! I already have a few other in-progress layouts with these papers!! Did I mention that I totally love them!! lol :)

a TON of projects and a GIVEAWAY!!

Okay, so I know I've been kind of neglecting my blog a little bit lately, but for good reason, I've been busy creating!! :) I made some cards, some layouts, and even an altered art piece!!

These cards were super quick and easy to make... I used some leftover Echo Park goodies on them...

Next, I played with the new LYB Halloween line, Boo-ville!! I actually made a sketch that I used to create this layout... it was really fun to work with a sketch of my very own and to see how it developed into a layout!! I love this cute pic of my little turtle from last Halloween...

And another layout... this one was a little out of my comfort zone!! I wouldn't normally pick up papers like these MLS papers but I'm super glad I decided to try scrapping with them!! I had sooo much fun creating this layout...

The journaling on the tree is my favorite part... I love to try and incorporate journaling in fun and different ways!! :)
Lastly, I have a Welcome sign that I used some Echo Park and some Cosmo Cricket on... I think these two paper lines make a really fun combination!! I did a little bit of light distressing with ink and paint, which is a little out of the norm for me but I love how it came out!! :)

The last days of summer...

The weather has been sooo nice here lately so we've been spending a ton of time outside!! Unfortunately outside time = not a whole lot of scrapping time. But that's okay, pretty soon we're not going to be able to spend hardly any time outdoors so we might as well take advantage of it while we can!! :) I did get one layout done at our LSS weekly crop last night... I know I know, next week I'm gonna try for at least two!! :) I made this for the Cosmo Cricket challenge and I used sketch #140 from Sketch Inspiration...

I didn't even realize how similar it was to the CC layout I made last week until I got home from the crop... I must just really be into the blue and yellow combo right now!! :)

I also created a pair of matching card for my sisters... they're identical twins and their birthday was last week so I decided to make them identical cards...

I'm super happy that I got in some scrappy time yesterday!! I created a journal with a Punky Sprout mini album and I used Sassafrass to decorate it!! I've been dying to play with both of these since I got them!! The decorative borders that come on the ends of the Sass pp are totally perfect for decorating the tabs on this mini!!

I also had fun using some of the new Glimmer Glaze and the Glimmer Glam on the canvas pieces!! I can't wait to fill this mini up with pics and journaling!! Thanks for taking a look!! :)

Sketchy Thursdays...

I finished my LO for the Sept GDT sketch at Sketchy Thursdays!! I was super excited to use this sketch!! The circle photo is really fun and I had every intention of using it but my layout kind of evolved on it's own without it... I definitely think you can still see the inspiration from the sketch though!! :)

I think this might be my mostest favoritest layout ever!! I think it might be because of the colors on these Lily Bee papers... they're so soft and pretty!!

I'm totally in love with this super cute flower that I came up with... I added the new Glimmer Glaze to it and the shimmer is sooo pretty!! :)

It's Shane's nap time right now, so if I'm gonna get any scrapping done today, I gotta get to it!! Have a great weekend!! :)

My wedding...

I finished my last layout for the Ms. Scraptastic contest!! The challenge was to create a layout using b&w with one other color and to add bling. Can you believe this is my very first time scrapping one of my wedding photos?? I mean seriously, we're coming up on our 3rd anniversary!! lol Oh well!! I think I've been a little intimidated to scrap them but I'm really happy with the way it turned out...

I have to admit, I've been a little obsessed with tulle ever since we took Sarah's mini album class... I sooo love how cute and fun it is!! I also had a lot of fun playing with this Webster's trim... it was the perfect color for this layout... I just felt like it was a little too bulky so I folded it in half and glued it down and then I added the gems with my i-rock... I really love that the gems stick to fabric!!

Yesterday, we took Shane to Chuck E Cheese for the very first time!! I think he's still a little too young to play but it was nice to get outta the house and do something. :) Boy, did I forget how gross the pizza was though... especially $30 later!! Shane had fun though so whatever!! I think his favorite part was his cup!! lol

Oh and last but not least... I also wanted to share how excited I was when I saw that my Little Miss Sunshine layout was picked as a Sketchy Thursdays fave!! YAY!! :)

I made it to the final round!!

I made it to the 6th and final round of the Ms. Scraptastic contest!! For the final round we have to create two layouts... the challenge for the first layout is to make a layout that looks like a magazine cover... Here's what I came up with...

What do you think... Did I pull it off? Does it look like a magazine cover? I didn't want to go super literal... I still wanted it to have a scrapy-ish feel to it. I hope I did a good job balancing the the two... I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!! :)

Journaling: I love my life for everything I have… my beautiful family… our health and happiness. I love my life for all the amazing moments… all the amazing journeys that we’ve been on. I love my life for all the beautiful memories that we’ve made together… and all the memories to come. I love my life for all the small things that may seem insignificant but are truly amazing… my son saying “mom”… my husband holding my hand. I love my life for all of the smiles that I give and receive… the happiness that is everywhere. I love my life for my passions… all the books that I have yet to read… all the scrapbook pages I have yet to create. I love my life for all of the love in it… my husband and son are my everything. Maybe it’s not quite 101 reasons… it’s actually so much more.

I picked up some of the new Tattered Angel mediums while I was at the scrap expo last weekend and I played with the Glam on this flower... I love the sparkle!! :)

Super fun weekend...

We had a super fun weekend... crazy... but fun!! We drove two and a half hours to Santa Clara for the Scrapbook Expo and spent way too much money... and then we got back in the car for another hour and a half and drove to Brentwood for a mini album class with Sarah!! :) Look how super cute the mini from her class is...

We had so much fun at her class!! We'll definitely be taking a trip back up there again after our bank accounts recover!! lol

I also wanted to share a layout I created of my niece, Kylie, with this weeks sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays...

park pics and some layouts...

We got up early and went to the park yesterday so we could play before it got too hot... we had a lot of fun feeding the ducks!! The last couple of times we tried to take Shane, he was afraid of the ducks, especially the big ones that make the loud honking noise... I think they're geese or something? Anyway, he totally loved it this time so that was really cool!! There was also a bunch of cool peacocks and even a little baby one, the little turtles and the koi fish were fun too!!

So, on to some scrappy stuff... I made it to round 5 of The scrap-tastic challenge!! This weeks challenge was to use the title "if I could change one thing" we had to use 3 pics, paint, and stamping. Here's what I made...

I made it kind of last minute because Shane and I haven't been feeling too well, but I'm really happy with the way it came out... hopefully it'll be good enough to get me into the next round!! :)

I also created a two-pager a few days ago and boy are they tough for me!! I'm not really sure why but it was definitely out of my comfort zone!! I'm glad I gave it a try anyway!! :)

I'm super excited for next weekend!! We decided that we're going to drive up to Santa Clara for the Scrapbook expo on Saturday!! We're also going to take a mini album class with Sarah while we're up there!! I cannot wait... it's going to be so much fun!! :)

Well, I'm off to try and relax... I'm hoping whatever yucky sick stuff that Shane and I have, will clear up quick... being sick is no fun but it's even worse seeing my little guy not feeling well.

Summer love...

I made it to round 4 of the Scrap-tastic contest!! This weeks challenge was to follow a sketch using an 8x10 photo and only 2 pp's... it also had to be about your favorite thing about summer. I gotta admit that this was pretty challenging for me... I've never scraped an 8x10 before and I usually like using lots of pp... but I'm happy with the way it came out and I'm glad that I ended up with something that I wouldn't normally do!!

I'm way lovin these little flowers that I made... They're super easy and a lot of fun to make!!

I feel like I've been super busy lately... I'm not really sure why... I guess running around after an extremely active toddler keeps me pretty busy!! As crazy as he can get sometimes... I've been wanting to scrap these pics of my scrap room for like ever now and I'm so glad that I finally did!! I made it to round 3 of the ScrapTastic contest and this round was to scrap your hobby and the twist was to include fabric of some sort (I used yellow ribbon) I also thought it would be perfect to include my blog as part of my hobby so this is also for the challenge over at TAAFOMFT... the challenge right now is to scrap your favorite website... so I'm doing double duty on this layout...

The journaling reads: I've always enjoyed being crafty and scrapbooking is something that I've always wanted to do, and after I had my son and quit working, it seemed like the perfect time to start. Then when I discovered all the amazing inspiration online, it became a full fledged obsession!! I love checking out all the scrappy blogs and playing along in challenges!! :)

I made this next layout for the Cosmo Cricket challenge... these CC papers were perfect for these water park pics...

I created the banner out of floaties from a CC border strip...

And last but not least... I have some fun news!! I'm sooo super excited... I got an email the other day from Scrapbook News & Review... they're publishing two of my layouts in their online magazine!! :)

So... I haven't been scrapping or blogging as much lately... it kind of seems that way with everyone this summer!! We've been really busy and spending a lot of time outside!! I LOVE this pic of Shane palying with is favorite doggie, Kara!! :)

Anyway, I finally got a layout done!! yay me!! I made it to round 2 in the Ms. ScrapTasic contest... this weeks challenge was to have someone interview you and to create a layout about yourself with journaling. The layout also had to represent you... I think I did a pretty good job showing how girly I am with all the soft and feminine colors... I also used a photo of me at Pismo Beach, which is like my most favoritest place!! :)

Tomorrow we're having a birthday party for my niece, Kylie!!

I can't believe she's already almost one years old!! We're having the party at my house so I gotta get ready for it... I'm sure I'll have tons of fun pics to share later!! :)

I have some exciting news!! I was asked to be the featured member for the month of July at Scrapbook Challenges!! You can check it out here!! And for some other news... I went to my very first crop at my LSS last night!! To be honest, I'm not really sure I understand the point of going to crops because you don't have all your stuff and I didn't seem to get much done. I seriously tried to stuff my whole scrap room into my scrap bag... and I still ended up wishing I had thought to bring some stuff!! lol Okay, moving on, here's the layout that I worked on at the crop... it's for the Ms. Scraptastic 2010 Challenge. The challenge for the first round is a color challenge...

I added some glimmer mist to the edges of these flowers.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge... I've got my fingers crossed that I make it to round 2!!

Shane's new favorite thing...

Shane's new favorite thing is the slide!! We went to the playground last night and he had so much fun sliding... over and over again!! lol

The first few times that we went to the water park, Shane wasn't really too sure about the water slides but after going to the playground last night, he was super excited to go down the water slides today!! It was so much fun!! :)
Shane also painted his first picture with finger paints today!! He did such a good job... I think I'm going to frame it and hang it up in my scrap room. :)

Ok, now for some projects... I created a couple of things for storage. The first one is a Cosmo Cricket memory box that I dressed up with Cosmo Cricket paper and chipboard. This is the perfect little box to hold all of my Chipboard pieces...

The other project is a container that I altered using Webster's Pages to hold all of my trim...

A layout and a mini...

I created this layout with The Scrappiest sketch #69 using the new CC papers... I also made it for the CC challenge over at scrapbook.com... the twist this month was to use handmade flowers.

Next, I made a mini!! I've gotta get me some more mini's... they're super fun!! I love the Echo Park paper... it's so bright and fun... I've already have their new line on my wish list!! These paper just said mini album to me... I knew as soon as I saw them that was what I was going to use them for!! I haven't added pictures yet but I think some fun pics of Shane playing in the backyard will be perfect for this mini. :)

The weather here has been super hot but my little man still loves being outside all the time so we decided to get season passes to our local water park!! We've been having alot of fun going out to the water park and cooling off... plus I'm getting a nice tan... so I'm glad that we decided to do it!! :) Here's a couple of pics of snack time at the water park... yummy...

I love love LOVE shoes!! When I saw that the challenge at These are a few of my Favorite Things was shoes I died!! Love shoes, love this challenge!! I took some pics of some of my very fav shoes and used some of the new CC and here's what I came up with...

I totally admit that as much as I love heels, I do tend to throw on my comfy shoes more often than not, especially since having the baby. I think it's because I'm always super paranoid about pulling a Brittney Spears (tripping and dropping the baby) and since I don't have body guards with me everywhere (like she does) to catch the baby (like they did), I just stick to flats for the most part!! (I know that happened like 5 years ago but obviously it had a traumatic effect on me). I know, I'm a dork!! :) Anyway, since I don't wear my heels very often it was nice to pull them out of the closet and visit with them!! Thanks for stopping by!!

I love these photos of my little guy with my husband at the zoo... we had such a fun time and they're both so happy in the pics!! I used some yummy October Afternoon patterned paper(seriously, who doesn't love this paper!?!) and the SUPER CUTE blue flowers are from Sarah's etsy shop, RedOakLines... LOVE them!! :)

I'm so glad that I finally scrapped these... I have some many pics I need to scrap, it's unreal... and I'm taking more all the time... there's just no way to catch up!! I think this is a first for me...

I actually got TWO layout done tonight in one sitting... that like never happens!! It's usually next to impossible with a 14 month old running around getting into everything!! But tonight my awesome husband helped out a bunch with the little booger!! And the best part is that I really love how both the layouts came out!! :) The first one is a layout of me and my little guy, Shane, with some Nikki Sivils paper... I really love the colors!! :)
The second layout is for the These are a few of my favorite things... the challenge right now is to scrap your favorite book!! This challenge is so right up my alley... reading is like my most favorite thing to do... right up there with scrapping of course!! So, my favorite book is actually a series of books by Lee Child... Here's the layout I created:

LOVE these books!! The Studio Calico paper was perfect for journaling about these books!! :)
I made the flowers using my thumbprint... to kind of play off of the crime aspect of the novels :)

I've been begging my husband to order me the new Webster's Pages (for some reason my LSS hasn't ordered them)!! They're sooo pretty!! I was so excited when I finally got them... and then I was kind of stumped... the papers are so pretty, I wasn't sure that I could really do them justice. But I just jumped right in and started cutting and I'm pretty happy with the result... I've gotta stop second guessing myself and just have fun!! :) I love this pic of my little guy from our trip to the beach a couple weeks ago!! :) I made this layout for the GDT challenge at Scrapfreak... the challenge was to use fabric and to sew somewhere on the layout...

A few weeks ago I donated to Sarah's AIDS walk (if you're interested in donating, you can check it out HERE) and in return she scrapped some pics of Shane... well she finished the layout and it's BEYOND cute!! I LOVE it!! So, life has been beyond crazy this last week... things with my sister and my niece got way worse... I don't want to get into it because I'm just trying to move forward from it. My husband knew I needed a break from it all and took me to the coast for a couple of days, which was so nice!! I have the best husband ever!! Pismo was so nice and Shane had a blast!! :)

my crazy life and some crafts

I know I don't usually share personal things from my life here but I used to keep a journal and since having the baby I haven't kept up with it. I think getting my thoughts down really helps, especially when life get chaotic. With that said, life is kind of chaotic right now!! My sister is a drug addict, she's been in and out of jail and we keep hoping that she'll straighten her life out, if not for herself, then for her daughter, Kylie. I love my niece, she is the sweetest little thing and I just don't see how my sister hasn't cleaned up her act for her. I figure if she won't do it for her daughter then she's never going to do it. She been in a program for some time now and she hasn't attended all week, and she skipped her court hearing today, which basically means she's on the run from the cops to avoid jail time. It breaks my heart that Kylie doesn't have a stable environment. I wish that I could provide that for her but I just don't see how. I'm just angry at my sister, sad for Kylie, and frustrated about the whole situation.

Anyway, on a happier note, I scrapped a super cute pic of Kylie from the tea party... I used this weeks sketch from Sketch Inspiration.

And I made a card for this months card sketch challenge at Page Maps blog... I used a bunch of American Craft!! I saw the flower on Julie's design team post over at Blue Moon Scrapbooking and I just had to check out the tutorial... thanks so much JULIE for sharing the link to that super cute flower tutorial!! I've had that fabric paper for awhile now and I wasn't really sure what to do with it!! You can check out the tutorial at Blue Moon Scrapbooking.

So, I have some really awesome news... I made the design team for The Pink Elephant!! They orignally just did card challenges but they recently decided to start incorporating scrapbook challenges !! I'm super excited to be apart of their scrapbook design team!! :)

I finished a layout last night... I used last weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursdays... I didn't get it done in time... but oh well... it was a fun sketch to work with anyway!! I used the new Girl's Paperie line... it's so cute and girly... love it!!

My first mini!! yay!! I'm sooo glad I finally made one!! When I saw this Pink Paislee mini album at my LSS... I knew I had to have it!! I had a lot of fun working on it!! I used tons of Pink Paislee products... I love their new lines!! I made this album for my favorite photos from this year's Tea Party.

I used Glimmer Mist and a Tim Holtz mask to decorate the cover.

I created this layout for the 'It's raining it's pouring challenge' over at Candy Shoppe Designs... the challenge is to use rain or tears... and they have some awesome blog candy from Scarlet Lime for the winner!! Here's what I created:

The clouds were cut from Sassafras pp, the rest of the pp is Pink Paislee. I created the background by misting on bubble wrap and then 'stamping' it onto the kraft. I love this photo of Shane looking out the window at the rain... and it was perfect for this challenge!!

I created this umbrella with a little help from my cricut... I don't have one with an umbrella on it (I don't know how that's possible, with all the cricut carts I have!!) So, I had to improvise... I cut out a circle and the letter J with my cricut and the I hand cut the detail... I topped it off with a little bit of stickle and a bow!!

I've been seeing these flowers everywhere and I love them... they're so easy to make and they're a great way to add some dimension!!

I recently applied for a design team, I didn't get accepted but part of the application was to include some random facts about myself and I thought it would be fun to share them!! So, here goes:
1. Okay... you're so gonna think I'm crazy but I LOVE animals... I have 6 cats and 4 dogs!! yeah I know... crazy!!
2. I'm a really picky eater... I eat french toast and bacon almost every day for breakfast!!
3. I looove the beach and I'm totally dying to go like right now!! :)
4. Reading is my second favorite past time... right after scrap booking of course ;)
5. I'm addicted to reality tv... and I watch wayyy too much of it lol
6. My husband and my son are my everything... they're my whole life!! I love being a wife and mother!!
7. I really want to have a second child... I already have a boy... and I would love to have a girl... wouldn't it be nice if we could pick? lol
8. Pink is my favorite color... and I'm sooo happy I finally have a scrap room of my own... with pink walls of course ;)
9. I LOVE shopping... I think that's one of the reasons I love scrap booking so much... shopping for super fun supplies!! :)
10. If I'm not buying scrap booking supplies then I'm probably buying shoes!! I LOVE shoes... I have wayyy too many and tons that I don't wear... it drives my husband crazy!! Boys just don't get it... shoes don't have to be for wearing... I just like looking at them!! lol
11. I'm super girly!! maybe that was obvious with # 8, 9, & 10!! lol
12. I love flowers... I sooo cannot wait for the weather to get a little nice so that we can work on our garden!! And by "we" working, I mean me pointing and my husband digging!! lol
13. Listening to music always makes me happy :)
14. Starbucks venti iced black tea with 8 pumps of classic is the yummiest thing EVER!!
15. My favorite places to eat are Chipotle, In-N-Out and Olive Garden... mmmm... now I need a Starbucks and I'm hungry!! lol
16. I'm a stay at home mom but before that I was a hair stylist!! I still love doing hair!!
17. My sister-in-law is my really fun scrapping buddy!! I love when she comes over to scrap!!
18. I've always loooved paper crafting... my grandma is really artsy so I like to think that I get that from her!! :)
19. All the girls at my LSS know me by name... it couldn't possibly be because I shop there WAY too much!! lol
20. Besides scrapping my son... I love scrapping my niece, Kylie!! My sister and I were both pregnant at the same time... so it's super cool that our kids are only 4 months apart!!

I loooved the sketch for this months challenge at Pagemaps!! and it doesn't hurt that winner gets 50 sheets of couture cardstock!! I used the new LYB... which I'm totally in love with!! and a photo of my grandma when she was a little girl!! I love this photo of her and I think these papers are perfect for it!! Here's the sketch and my layout:

Instead of using 3 photos, I used one large photo and cut it into thirds!!

I embossed the flowers so they would stand out a little more!!

This is my first attempt at a home decor project... there's a challenge over at Websters Pages blog to create a spring home decor project... I looove websters pages and I've been wanting to branch out a little so this was perfect!! I had a lot of fun with it... I did tons of cutting, misting, and inking!! I'm not really sure what I think of the outcome but this was my first attempt and a girl's gotta start somewhere!!

The background paper is behind the glass and all the detail is on top.

The April challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs is, U crack me up... the challenge was to scrap a funny or embarrassing pic that you thought you'd never scrap!! And the prize is an awesome kit from Scarlet Lime!!

This picture is of my cousin, Stanton, getting his eyebrows waxed by me :) So, what happened, was we ended up having a mini waxing party after my baby shower and Stanton (my cousin, who was 15 at the time)happened to be the only guy there... I'm not sure how we talked him into getting his eyebrows waxed in the first place but then he decided he would let me wax them off completely for $20... I think he had been watching too much Jackass or something!! lol but there was no way I was going to wax his eyebrows all the way off... it was too funny though!!

I really wanted to use some fun bright colors...

so I went right for my sassafras stash!!

I'm glad I scrapped this... I doubt that I would have if it hadn't been for this challenge... so thanks to Candy Shoppe Designs for inspiring me!! :)

I really love this pink paislee line so I wanted to do another layout with it!! I used another pic of Shane playing in the garden because I looove these papers with these pics!! :) I used sketch #193 over at Scrapbook Challenges... here's my layout...

I made the flowers by cutting out hearts on my cricut and then folding them to create dimension... and then I glued the larger ones on brads and the smaller ones onto the cork embellies!!

I created this layout for two challenges... the first challenge is a sketch challenge at Sketchy Thursdays and the second challenge is at Bluemoon Scrapbooking to cut out embellies from patterned paper... I used the new Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection... these papers went perfectly with this pic of Shane... Shane playing in the garden
I cut these flowers out and used glossy accents and pearls to embellish them.

I used pop dots to add some dimension.

I love these stamped cork embellies... I cut them in half to make a scalloped boarder.

Tea Party Day!!

I finished a layout today... I used the new Fancy Pants line, Road Show... I love the soft vintagey look of these papers... soooo pretty!! I used sketch #192 at Scrapbook Challenges...My son, Shane and I.

I misted the circles... used liquid pearls... and a Fancy Pants rub-on.

I made this flower using tulle... I misted it to get it the color that I wanted and topped it off with a Pink Paislee brad.

After I finished this layout we had to get ready to go to a tea party!! We go every year on Good Friday... it's sooo nice to visit with family and eat yummy food!! :)

An Easter card...

I made this card for the Easter challenge over at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog... I think I'm starting to get the hang of card making... I really love how this one came out!! The challenge was to use a cuttlebug embossing folder and your favorite stamp... I embossed the bg paper and rubbed a little distress ink over it so it would pop a little more and then I accented some of the embossed circles with pearls!! The stamp I used was one that I HAD to buy... my husband thought I was nuts but when I saw this stamp of a bunny's butt... I seriously had to have it... my husband was like "what are you even gonna use that for"... I told him, "it doesn't matter... I NEED it"!! lol This was the perfect thing to use it on... I can't wait to show my hubby when he gets home from work!! :) Is that not the cutest stamp EVER?!?

Cake and a layout...

Shane's birthday party was really fun... he stayed happy the whole time... I was a little nervous about him being overwhelmed but he had a blast! Thanks to everyone who wished him a happy birthday!! I think his favorite part was the cake! lol

So, now that everything has settled down a little bit, I had some time to get a layout done... I used jillibean pp's and sketch #57 from The Scrappiest, which I turned on it's side...

I layered a felt flower cut from my cuttlebug... a flower that I hand cut from jillibean pp... a flower from some trim... and a pearl

I cut the heart from cardboard with my cuttlebug and layered it with a button from my Grandma :)

...and another button from my Grandma :)

Hopefully, I'll be able to get some more layouts done before life gets busy again this weekend with Easter... I'm super excited for Shane's first real Easter... last year he was only 2 weeks old so we didn't do much... I think he's going to have a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by... My baby boy is ONE today!! I can't believe my little guy was born a year ago... look how tiny he was...

I made this layout for the Cherry on Top cricut challenge on the PageMaps blog. I turned the sketch on it's side and did my own take on it. The layout had to include the theme appreciation and journaling. I wanted to express how lucky I am to be a mommy and how amazing my little guy is... I made a pocket for my journal card and decided to address the journaling to my son, Shane. Here's the sketch and the prize.... And here's my layout:

I'm soooo glad that I've had more time to scrap lately... I finished another layout last night! I used a sketch from Sketch Inspiration... and pictures of my niece, Kylie. This was my first time using my new Gypsy (handheld device for the cricut)... and I'm not sure it was really worth the cost... it was pretty pricey... if I could find the receipt I would probably return it. Oh, well! So, anyway... here's the layout that I created...

I looove Websters Pages gorgeous paper!! And I love all the gorgeous things that I've seen people create with them. I don't really have a scrapping style... I just buy and use stuff that I like... and my taste is a little all over the place... but I'm pretty happy with the way this came out! :) I also got to use a gorgeous rhinestone button, from my grandma's collection, as the the center of the light pink flower in the bottom left hand corner.

Shane and I are going to the zoo today... I can't wait to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!! I hope that everyone is enjoying it as much as we are!!

I did some scrapping last night and got a page done. This layout is for the Sketchy Thursday Guest Design Team for April. It was a super cool sketch and I had a lot of fun with it! We also had to use either pink mist or pink paint (I went with mist of course!!) and the prompt: "If I could ____, I would ____". This is what I made:

I also made a card for challenge #11 over at Leading a craftastic life. The challenge was to use a Page Maps skecth to make a card. Here's what I made:

I've been totally feeling like there's just not enough time in the day to get any scrapping done... we've been so busy... but i did finished a layout last night... this is the first layout I've done in a couple weeks:

This layout is for a scraplift challenge over at scrapbook.com... there's still a few days left if you want to check it out... layouts are due March 15th! I had a lot of fun with this layout... I made my own mist with reinker and perfect pearls... i love being able to make my own custom colors!! I also made my own embellie with my cuttlebug using cork, felt, twine, and a button!

I chose to scraplift Sarah's layout... I really loved the design and how she used the puzzle pieces to tie in with the title. I love her work and this layout is super cute:

Part of the reason we've been so busy lately is that we've been planning and getting ready for Shane's first birthday!! This is a pic of the Elmo invitations that I made...

Shane loves his tickle me Elmo so we decided to go with an Elmo theme! I sooo can't believe he's almost one already!! He started walking this month... I don't know where my little baby went... he's turning into a big boy!! A friend of mine came over yesterday and took some beautiful photos of my him... She did an amazing job... I can't wait to get them printed so I can scrap them!! TFL... I hope everyone has a great weekend!! :)

This is my baby boy at 7 months old... I had a lot of fun playing with sassafrass paper... this was actually my first time using sassafrass... I love their paper but my LSS hasn't had it in stock so this weekend we went to Bakersfield to visit my dad and while we were there we went to the scrap store there and I'm in LOVE!! They have a huge selection... it was a lot of fun!! I used sketch #53 from The Scrappiest... it's a really cool site... with great sketches and tons of amazing inspiration!!

Flower Child...

This is my niece, Kylie, in October 2009. I used a sketch from The Scrappiest to creat this LO. She posts a new sketch every Monday and it's a really cool site so be sure to check it out :) I attempted to stitch with my sewing machine on this LO... I've tried it a few times now on a few different LO's and I'm pretty happy with the way it came out this time... it's definitely a trial and error thing for me.

This is the detail of the heart flower that I created using a tutorial that I found at Leading a Craftastic Life... it's really simple and fun... basically its four different sizes of hearts layered together... and I decided to glimmer mist mine... I LOVE glimmer mist :)

I also used Glimmer Mist to create the background for my photo. This is the ribbon type material that i used as a templete to mist over. I'm in love with this stuff... it's super cool... I got it from my grandma and I plan on using it on a lot of things to come :) My grandma has sooo many neat things... one of the coolest things is her button collection... I snaped a few photos of some of her jars of buttons yesterday... but thats not even close to half of what she has. I plan on scrapping these photos and of course I'll share mine LO here when I'm done with it :) So, for now here are the photos that I took...

I finishes this lo last night... I used two different challenges for inspiration... The first challenge is a sketch challenge at Sketch Inspirations ...and the other challenge was to focus on journaling at Scrap Whispers ... they're both really great challenge sites with great prizes...

I've been wanting to scrap this picture since it was taken in October... it's just too funny!!

The journal reads: This picture proves that my sisters are crazy! It was taken in October 2009, when Angela and Poopsie cam to visit. Angela was helping Erica watch Kylie one morning and Erica went into the room Angela was staying in and picked up a pink and navy striped shirt, thinking it was kylie's and that Angela had tried to get her dressed. But it turned out that it was Poopsie's shirt! So, that's how they realized that they had matching outfits and decided to dress them up as twins! You can tell that they're both really thrilled about it! lol It's a cute picture though and it's kind of cool that it's the twins' "twins" because it's both their babies (even if one of them is furry)!

Today I created a card for a challenge using a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays... it's a really great sketch and an awesome prize... I needed to make a belated birthday card for my grandma so this was a great opportunity... here's my card...
I cut the flowers out with my cricut expressions... then I folded them to give them a little dimension... and added pearls to the center. The misting is Glimmer Mist sweet pea. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out... it isn't anywhere near some of the amazing ones that I've seen people create... but this is only the second card I've made so I think I'm doing well for a newbie!! TFL... and have a great day!!

I've kind of been in a scrap rut the past couple of days... so today I decided I need to do something a little different to get inspired... so I decided to stamp with paint... I know, I know it's not a crazy new technique or anything but it's a fun technique that I love and it was just what I needed to start feeling creative again.

Here's a pic of some cute flowers that I stamped onto kraft with my white dabber paint... this would make a super cute pp... but I'm actually going to cute them out and add them to a lo that I'm working on... I'll share it here when I'm done!! Hope this inspired you to put the ink away and get out the paint... and if you create something with this technique, I'd love to see your work... happy crafting!!

My very first post!

yay!! I'm s0o0o super excited for my first blog post!! I'm going to start by sharing my most recent lo... it is for a sketch challenge to be GDT next month at Sketchy Thursdays... it's an awesome sketch... I had alot of fun with it...

I made the flowers on my cricut... then i crumbled them up... inked them with the ranger blending tool and distress ink... the button in the middle of the flowers are from my grandmother... she has jars and JARS full of buttons!!

My grandma is the neatest lady... she has s0o0o much stuff. I recently went to visit her and showed her a chipboard album that I was working on... she couldn't believe that i had bought buttons to use on it because she has so many (I'll have to take a picture of all her buttons next time I'm there)... anyway she told me to come back and we'd do a button day... and so we did!!.. it was really cool to see all the neat old buttons that she has collected over the years... I'm super excited to use more of them on my lo's... so that's something fun to look forward to!
